About Issy Artu
The concept for Issy Artu was born many years ago when our founder and chief whip decided to pay close attention to moisturisers she was using and wanting to know exactly what she was putting on her skin having embarked on a journey of being ‘as natural as possible’. Her grandmother frequently sent shea butter which was rarely used up to this point. Knowing of the benefits of shea butter, she started using it as a body moisturiser and hair conditioner. Having used the shea butter on its own, she then started adding other butters and oils, creating various recipes for herself, later sharing with family and friends to use – mixing shea butter with other butters, natural oils, adding fragrances and essential oils, creating various recipes. This went from a hobby to no longer buying body moisturisers to turning a passion for making products into a business – which is what Issy Artu is today.
