About Public Health National Emergency Operations Center
PHNEOC, was established to help the nation recover from the Ebola outbreak in 2014/15 and prepare for any future public health threat.
 
Globally, Sierra Leone is one of the countries that has suffered greatly from the Ebola virus infection for the past 18 months. Meanwhile measures are being put in place to ensure the country remains Ebola free and be able to respond to any other diseases outbreak in the future irrespective of the cause.

Recognizing this fact, Sierra Leone has to make sure that the country is able and ready to respond to any future outbreak of any disease or even potential resurgence of the EVD virus. It pursuance to the above, the PHNEOC has been established By the MoHS.
