About Renata's Afrofusion Cuisine
Renata, a native from the West African country Sierra Leone, started cooking from the age of eight. She got her inspiration from her summer holidays in Lunsar, a town in Port Loko District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, situated approximately 60 miles east of Freetown. Cooking has always been her passion, just like music and singing. Meanwhile, Renata has traveled all over the world, which gave her the opportunity to meet several chefs from different countries. All that traveling and socializing with chefs from everywhere in the world led to her love of world food. As a result, she started mixing all kinds of flavors from the four corners of the world, giving birth to the most incredible dishes and unique meals that no one has ever tasted in their lives. This fusion between different flavors and cultures on one side and her love of music on the other suddenly awakened her awareness of a spiritual symbiosis between food and music, especially the fusion between jazz and world music. Recently, Renata started writing a book based on her travels. It’s a fact that Renata’s exploring and experimenting have given the word “fusion” a totally new dimension!
